In the late 1950’s Walter & Opal Stewart ventured into what would become the mobile home industry.  The couple started by hauling the house trailers built by factories and sold by dealerships to customers lots.  Besides being an excellent driver, Walter eventually decided to get into sales and pretty soon was a sales manager.  He fondly told of the day that he sold 10 coaches (as they were called then) in a one weekend sales event.  Opal even hosted a radio show at the dealership on the weekend.

    The Stewart’s watched the industry evolve from 8 foot wide trailers into the 3600 square foot quads that are built today.  They also watched as their family grew to eight, four daughters and two sons.  In order to feed the family, Walter managed sales lots, Opal sold insurance, and both bought properties on which they placed rental units on.

    Over the years the Stewart family have opened and operated many dealerships, managed entire franchises, opened rental parks, owned rental units, an even built a factory in the early 1980’s which built manufactured housing.  Pretty soon the entire family was involved.

    Today Walter & Opal Stewart’s children operate a business that they started in 1990—Bay Manufactured Homes Inc., which proudly sells manufactured & modular housing all over the State of Florida.  Besides selling affordable housing, the family has experience in developing properties and built multiple subdivisions for manufactured homes.  All are licensed realtors, and operate their own realty.  The family also maintains a State of Florida residential contractor license and has built custom site built homes in the area.  There is no one more experienced in the manufactured housing industry than this family, and they have built a solid reputation by offering value and service to their customers.  We welcome you as a customer, and will always appreciate your business.  Thanks for hearing our story.
